The Prins Grow Story
We are Jan & Fabiola Prins, born and raised in the Westland greenhouse district in the Netherlands. We moved to Canada in 1998, in love with the space and opportunities we saw. Greenhouse work and the growing of statice was not new for us, but growing statice year-round was going to be our challenge.
In 2001, we built our first new section and in 2003 a second piece of 2,500 m2 was built. This brought the total greenhouse to about 10,000 square metres.
In the mean time, we started growing cut-amaryllis. This crop is becoming more and more popular in Canada.
Our family started to grow too. In 1999 we were blessed with a baby girl, Sarah and in 2001 another baby girl, Fay.
